Our selectors play an important role in supporting a fair, consistent and considered selection process across the PRNA Representative Program.
Selection is about more than identifying individual skill. Our selectors work collaboratively to consider athlete performance, positional requirements, combinations, development potential and the overall needs and balance of each team.
PRNA welcomes Expressions of Interest from people who bring netball knowledge, objectivity, professionalism and integrity to the selection environment.
Selectors may be appointed across different stages of the representative pathway, including trials, squad selections and final team selections.
All selectors are expected to uphold the PRNA values of Resilience, Respect, Community and Inclusion.

Selectors should approach every selection process with the aim of making decisions that are in the best interests of the athletes, teams and overall PRNA Representative Program.
Selectors may consider a range of areas including:
Technical skills | Positional ability | Movement | Game understanding | Decision making | Teamwork | Communication | Versatility | Coachability | Attitude | Development potential | Team combinations
Selection is based on an athlete's performance across the overall selection process, rather than one moment or one game.
Selectors should be available for the full selection process where possible, including relevant trials, briefings and final selection discussions.
No individual selector selects a team independently. Final selections are determined through the agreed PRNA selection process and collective consideration of the selection panel.
All appointed selectors must also meet any applicable Blue Card, child safety, safeguarding and PRNA compliance requirements.
Selectors must declare any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest before the selection process wherever possible.
This may include a family member participating in selections, a close personal relationship with an athlete or family, or a current coaching relationship.
PRNA will determine how any conflict is managed to protect the fairness and integrity of the selection process.
All athlete assessments, selector notes, panel discussions and selection decisions are confidential and must not be discussed outside the authorised selection process.
Selectors must not provide athletes, parents, coaches or others with unofficial information regarding an athlete's performance or likelihood of selection.
