Welcome to the 2027 PRNA Greater Brisbane Netball League Program.
The Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL) provides a competitive representative pathway for athletes across U16, U18, U23 and Opens.
The program provides athletes with the opportunity to compete in a high-quality competition environment while continuing to develop their individual skills, physical preparation, game understanding and team performance.
All 2027 GBNL trials and team selections will be completed in 2026, allowing selected teams to prepare for the commencement of the 2027 GBNL season.

Nominations are open for:
U16 – Players turning 15 or 16 in 2027
U18 – Players turning 17 or 18 in 2027
U23 – Players turning 18–23 in 2027
Opens – Players turning 18 years and above
All athletes wishing to be considered for selection must complete the online nomination form and attend the required trial sessions.

The PRNA Greater Brisbane Netball League Program provides representative opportunities across:
U16
Players turning 15 or 16 years in 2027.
U18
Players turning 17 or 18 years in 2027.
U23
Players turning 18 to 23 years in 2027.
Opens
Players turning 18 years and above in 2027.
Players selected in U16 and U18 must be registered and play with a PRNA affiliated club in the PRNA Winter Season.
For players selected in U23 and Opens, participation in the PRNA Winter Season is not mandatory.
All athletes must meet the relevant registration and competition eligibility requirements for the Greater Brisbane Netball League.
he GBNL Program provides a structured pathway from trials through to competition.
TRIAL → SELECT → PREPARE → TRAIN → COMPETE
Trial – Athletes attend GBNL trials in November 2026.
Select – All 2027 GBNL teams will be selected before the end of 2026.
Prepare – Selected athletes will receive information regarding preseason and preparation requirements.
Train – Fitness commences in mid-February, followed by team training in late February.
Compete – Teams represent PRNA throughout the 2027 Greater Brisbane Netball League season.
Final training and competition dates will be confirmed following release of the 2027 GBNL calendar.

Players are expected to attend both scheduled trial sessions. Specific trial times for U16, U18, U23 and Opens will be communicated prior to trials.

PRNA intends to nominate teams in the following Greater Brisbane Netball League divisions:

Final team nominations are subject to player numbers, competition requirements and the 2027 GBNL competition structure.
TRAINING PARTNERS
Where appropriate, athletes may also be selected as Training Partners. Training Partners provide additional depth to the program while allowing athletes to continue developing within the PRNA representative environment.
Specific Training Partner expectations and opportunities will be communicated at the time of selection.
GBNL COMPETITION
Selected teams will compete throughout the 2027 Greater Brisbane Netball League season.
Competition dates, venues and finals information will be published once the official 2027 GBNL calendar is released.

Physical preparation and regular team training form an important part of the PRNA GBNL Program.
FITNESS
The 2027 GBNL Fitness Program will commence in mid-February 2027.
Fitness sessions will focus on preparing athletes for the physical demands of the GBNL competition and supporting ongoing athlete development.
TEAM TRAINING
Team training will commence in late February 2027.
Training schedules will be developed around the confirmed GBNL competition calendar and will focus on individual skill development, team structures, combinations and match preparation.
Selected athletes are expected to commit to scheduled fitness and team training throughout the season.
Specific fitness and training dates, times and venues will be communicated once the 2027 GBNL calendar is confirmed.
Participation in the PRNA Greater Brisbane Netball League Program involves a financial commitment for athletes and families.
GBNL fees contribute towards the costs of delivering the program, including competition fees, training, fitness, team requirements and other associated program costs.
Additional costs may apply for uniforms and other individual requirements.
PRNA is committed to keeping representative netball as affordable as possible and will continue to look for opportunities to reduce costs for athletes and families.
2027 GBNL fees, payment schedules and uniform requirements will be published once final costs have been confirmed.
Representing PRNA in the Greater Brisbane Netball League requires a strong commitment from selected athletes.
Players are expected to attend scheduled training, fitness sessions, competition games and team commitments throughout the GBNL season and represent PRNA with pride both on and off the court.
Athletes are expected to communicate early with their coach and team manager regarding any injury, illness or circumstances that may impact their availability.
We recognise that athletes balance netball with school, university, work, family and other commitments. Clear and early communication is important throughout the season.
